A full-time course load is being enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours and a maximum of 18 credit hours. What happens if I want to take more than 18 credit hours during a semester? For students wishing to take more than 18 credit hours in a semester, a Student Request Form must be completed. A student request form can be accessed through this link: Student Request Form. Please reach out to your College of Education Advisor to talk through this decision. How do I add or drop a course? There are deadlines in place for adding and dropping classes. Review the Dates to Observe from the Office of the Registrar for specific dates and times. To add or drop a course after a published deadline, schedule an appointment with your advisor. Once you meet with your advisor, they can assist you with filling out the appropriate paperwork. How do I view my enrollment date? Your registration date displays on your Student Center in the Enrollment Dates box. Click the details link for more information, such as the specific time and date you are eligible to register. What should I do if the class I need is full? If the desired section of a course you need is closed, you should self-register for any open section of the course. Students should place the desired section of the course in their shopping cart, and monitor it daily to see if any seats in the course become available. If seats in a desired section of a course open, students may swap themselves out of their currently registered section, and into the desired section. If all sections of the course are full, and the course must be taken during the upcoming semester, please reach out to your COE advisor for directions on how to move forward. Why am I unable to enroll in the class I want to take? On the front page in the Student Center, students can see if they have any holds (i.e. Ubill hold, etc.) Also, please pay attention to any required prerequisites, which should be listed under the class details. Note: sections may be reserved for specific majors, honor students, etc. If you have questions, please contact your COE advisor. Other Questions: What can I do if I am struggling in a class? There are many resources available to assist you. Attend your professor's office hours to discuss class and what you are struggling with. Utilize The Learning Center for tutoring and academic coaches Schedule a meeting with your advisor to discuss what is happening I received an email that I am on academic alert, probation, or suspension. What does this mean? For information about academic alerts, probation, or suspension, visit the Registrar's Office. How do I transfer a course to UNI from another institution? To transfer a course to UNI, students should request an official transcript sent to UNI Admissions. To ensure the course will transfer as a direct equivalent to a course at UNI, students should consult the Transfer Equivalency Page. Please consult your advisor before you register for a class to verify the class will transfer.
