Kenneth N. Green

Kenneth N. Green graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree (1960) in Physical Education/General Science, thereafter serving (1961-1964) as an infantry officer with the United States Marine Corps and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Master of Arts degree (1965) in Physical Education, thereafter teaching and coaching at Starmont High School. He joined (1967) the Department of Physical Education for Men, UNI, as Director of Men’s Intramurals, taught physical education and served as assistant basketball and baseball coach: earning a Doctor of Education degree (1971) in Physical Education and Recreation from the University of Arkansas.

Dr. Green continued to serve UNI as professor of Physical Education, head Men’s Golf Coach, coordinator of Campus Recreation and Assistant to the Director of the School of Health, Physical Education and Leisure Services;. He taught and coached for thirty-two years and authored articles and/or videos for Research Quarterly, Scholastic Coach, Golf Digest, Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, Association of Golf Educators, Chip Shot Newsletter and served as an area consultant for the National Golf Foundation. Dr. Green received honors from UNI (Athletic Hall of Fame-2011), Golf Coaches Association of America (Coaching Service Award-1995), Iowa PGA (Recognition Award-1991), Mid-Continent Conference (Coach of the Year-1985), North Central Conference (Coach of the year-1973/1976/1977), NCAA College Division II, District 5 (Coach of the year-1973), ISU (Most Valuable Baseball Player Award-1960) and coached the only UNI four player golf teams to earn NCAA All-American Honors (1976, 1977, 1978 1979).
