James G. Hall

James G. Hall, Inducted 2023
James G. Hall graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree (1982) and a Master of Science degree (1983) in physical education, and earned a Doctor of Education (2013) degree from the University of Northern Iowa in leisure services.
Hall joined (1983) the Men's Department of Physical Education, UNI, as aquatics specialist, men's and women's swimming coach, serving (1983-present) with the Department, School of Health, Physical Education and Leisure Services (HPELS), the Department of Kinesiology and now the Department of Kinesiology and Athletic Training.
He is a certified instructor in five PADI, instructor/instructor trainer in 14 American Red Cross aquatic/safety specializations and coach for Unified Sports, Special Olympics and the National Federation of State High School Associations.
Hall taught classes at Luther College, Wartburg College and Ellsworth Community College and has authored local (5), state (1) and national (3) articles.
Hall has served as clinician/coach at local (23), state (11) and national (4) swimming camps, was named Mid-East or Mid-West Coach of the Year three times and made numerous local and state presentations.
He served as aquatics coordinator/instructor for Iowa Autism Association, AEA 267, Boys and Girls Club, North Star, River Hills School, and Special Olympics and was named Positive Influential Instructor at UNI five times.
James G. Hall has served the profession of physical education and aquatics with great distinction.
