Julianne Gassman

Julianne Gassman graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree (1992) in human resource management and a Master of Arts degree (1996) in youth and human services administration from the University of Northern Iowa and a Doctor of Philosophy degree (2005) in higher education administration from the University of Iowa.
She has worked (1994-1996) as project director, human resource manager, assistant director and associate director for Camp Adventure™ Child & Youth Service, UNI.
In 1997, Gassman joined the faculty of the Division of Leisure, Youth and Human Services in the School of Health, Physical Education and Leisure Services (HPELS), UNI, and served as division chair (2013-2015), administrative fellow for Community Engagement (2015-2019) and presently serves as director of Community Engagement.
She has an impressive record of publications (37), technical reports (8) and international and national presentations (89). She has received awards and acknowledgments including a Regents Award for Faculty Excellence from the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, and the Program Excellence Award from the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance.
Gassman has volunteered for numerous community organizations, including as a founding board member of the Iowa Nonprofit Alliance.
Julianne Gassman has served the profession of youth and human services with great distinction.
