Iowa Student Teaching Regions

Greater Cedar Valley Center

Schools in the Greater Cedar Valley Center include diversity of race, culture, socio-economic status, and school types. Greater Cedar Valley student teachers are also diverse. Some are traditional UNI students while others are non-traditional students entering second careers with children of their own.  These school districts have supportive, professional cooperating teachers who readily collaborate with each other and with UNI.

Cedar Rapids Center (Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor)

Student teachers in area urban and rural school districts experience diversity in socio-economic status, English as a Second Language students, and a true middle school program. Cooperating teachers and principals work professionally with student teachers to help build the future of the teaching profession. Like many other UNI student teaching centers, student teachers meet with Cadre members who provide feedback on action research and teaching skills.
