EFPE has a strong association with Kappa Delta Pi, the national honor society for educators whose local UNI chapter has endured more than 100 years. Department head Becky Wilson Hawbaker has served as the faculty advisor for the chapter for many years.

Funding varies, but many donor-funded scholarships award up to $1,000. Undergraduate students can apply for scholarships via one universal online application for undergraduates

For eligible College of Education-based graduate students, the Dean’s Graduate Scholarships are $1,500 awards. College of Education graduate students should use the COE graduate scholarship application. Graduate students also may be eligible for a $2,000 Online & Distance Education Scholarship.
