What drove your interest in your chosen career path?
I have a passion for education. I love student development and helping students in their transition to college and their transition into the work world. I had an awesome academic advisor in my undergrad and great staff who helped me be successful. I strive to be that person for students!
What attracted you to UNI and the College of Education?
My undergrad is in education, I'm married to a middle school teacher, my entire family has educators sprinkled throughout it. It's my history! I'm a 3rd generation Panther, so UNI will always be home and the College of Education is where my heart started!
Describe an experience that reinforced why you enjoy what you do.
Anytime a student has walked out of my office (in any of the jobs I've held) and they feel comfortable with the plan we built (whether it's academics, roommates, student orgs), I know I've done my part to help a student. I want students to feel confident in their choice to be at UNI and their future. I've been lucky to have a lot of these conversations with students over my 14+ years!
