What attracted you to UNI and the College of Education? UNI is such a friendly, student-centered campus, which is what I aim to embody in my approach to advising. I appreciate the supportive community here that provides a great opportunity to learn and grow. I come from a family of teachers and educators, and have a passion for education as well. The College of Education is the leader of teacher education in the state of Iowa (and beyond) and I am honored to be a part of that. I hope to make a positive impact in any way that I can.
Describe an experience that reinforces why you enjoy what you do. Every time I hear the incredible stories coming from my students, it reinforces my drive to be an advisor. Each student is so unique - they bring so many different perspectives, life events, and backgrounds to the table and have their own purpose and goals. I love experiencing each student’s journey and seeing what past experiences they bring with them, what they have overcome, and what they can achieve. It is an amazing feeling to be even a small part of their success.
