What attacted you to UNI and the College of Education?

I spent time at the University of Northern Iowa in 2009 and 2010 as I was working on my superintendent certification. The program was grounded in being leaders in learning, service, and change. This has been the foundation of my work as an administrator in Iowa. The practical approach to the work helped create a strong foundation for me to build my skill set and my identity as a leader. Being a part of this continuing tradition is what brought me back to UNI, and, more specifically, the College of Education.

I enjoy the conversation around public education. Being in a position to work with aspiring superintendents to continue that conversation and to be an advocate for students, teachers and communities is exciting.
