Why did you choose this degree -- and to pursue this degree at UNI?
I chose this degree because I wanted to work in education and specifically with our youngest students. I chose UNI because it was known as the school where teachers are encouraged to grow and develop.

What kind of path did you take to achieve your degree?
This was what I knew I wanted to do since being a young student myself.

How did your field experience prepare you for your career?
My practicums have been wonderful and prepared me to be in the field as a professional by having exposure to many things and having opportunities to try things, make mistakes and grow as an educator working with students.

What does completing your degree mean to you?
Completing my degree means I have opportunities and I show the ability to get things done no matter what.

What challenges did you face as you worked toward this degree – and how did you overcome them?
I faced many challenges as I worked towards my degree and I used them as steps to higher possibilities. I worked with the challenges, not against them and that assisted me to have the right mindset to get to graduation.

How did UNI help you achieve your goals?
UNI helped me achieve goals by encouraging me to explore all that I can, meet people and be open to new opportunities.

We often say UNI is student focused; a place where professors care--and teach; a place where learning happens in and out of the classroom;  and is perfectly sized. Do any of those statements ring true for you? 
I have had professors that showed me genuine interest and care. They took time to get to know me and what I needed to be successful. When I would be struggling, they could point me in the right direction to someone/something that I needed in the moment or situation.

What’s your best memory of your time at UNI?
Meeting people who are influential in my life.

What advice would you give to students considering UNI?
Do your research, know your options and make the best decision for you.

What do you plan to do with your degree?
Find a job/environment that best matches what I strive to do and teach/work with students to encourage them to be their best selves and know that it's a continual process.
