Chris Kowalski has been a professor at the University of Northern Iowa since 2000. Additionally, since 2017, Dr. Kowalski has served as an Assistant Coach for the University of Northern Iowa Women's Soccer team that competes in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Dr. Kowalski has supervised community and youth development/recreation programs for over 25 years in Idaho, Iowa, Nebraska, and Texas, as well as abroad in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. His research interests are youth work and leadership, coaching, and self-efficacy in the recreation field. He is a co-author/contributor on eight books specifically related to youth development and recreation and has over 50 national and international presentations on various youth development topics (i.e., developing health mentoring relationships, quality youth work programming).
