I've had the joy of being an educator for many years, both in Iowa and overseas. Throughout my career, my top priorities have remained the same: creating an engaging learning environment and building strong, trusting relationships with my students. In our UNI-CDC preschool classroom, I strive to make each day meaningful, fun, and full of opportunities for children to grow, explore, and thrive.

Describe an experinece that reinforces why you do what you do:
Our Panthers’ enthusiasm for learning is truly inspiring! Every day at the Child Development Center is exceptional, as our preschoolers come eager and excited to engage in a wide variety of enriching learning experiences. Their curiosity, joy, and passion for discovery make our work incredibly rewarding!

What drove your interest in education?
As the child of educators, I’ve been inspired by my parents’ passion and dedication.

What are your areas of expertise?
I have a strong passion for early elementary education, with a special interest in bilingual education and social/emotional development.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy centers on making learning engaging, meaningful, and fun—with the goal of inspiring children to become lifelong learners.
