Robert “Bob” Brown


Bob grew up in Waterloo, Iowa, and returned to the area after college and two terms in the U.S. Navy. Following a 30-year career in insurance he moved to business development, including the past 17 years with Hogan-Hansen Certified Public Accountants and Consultants. Bob has been extremely active in his community, having served in leadership roles with 26 area non-profit organizations and board member of seven groups. He is a former member of the Waterloo City Council and served as mayor pre-tem from 1988-1993. Bob has been honored with numerous awards for his service, including Waterloo Citizen of the Year in 1975, the Mayor’s Volunteer Award in 2005, Waterloo/Cedar Falls Courier Eight Over Eighty Legacy Award in 2011 and the Iowa Department on Aging Betty Grandquist Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. His granddaughter is a current student in the UNI College of Education and her husband is a recent graduate.
