Rep. Cindy Winckler


Cindy is currently serving her sixth term in the Iowa House of Representatives. She currently is a ranking member of the Education Appropriations subcommittee and service on Appropriations, Education and Human Resources committees. Cindy earned a bachelor’s degree in home economics from Northeast Missouri State University and a master’s degree in educational technology from UNI. She received first place in the UNI research award for her paper “Building an Instructional Model for High Schools of the 21st Century.” Cindy currently is an independent education consultant, and previously worked as a family and consumer science teacher as well as quality learning consultant with the Mississippi Bend AEA. She was named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teacher in 2000 and is an ex-officio member of the Iowa College Student Aid Commission. She and her husband, Joe, and two children and three grandchildren.
