How did you decide on your path of study?
I’ve always wanted to teach. I’d play school with my siblings and help them with the content they were learning in school.
Why did you choose to pursue this degree at UNI?
I’m actually a transfer student. My heart didn’t feel at home at the college I was previously at. My friend told me that I should try UNI and give it a shot as she likes the education program they have here! So I took a leap of faith and packed my bags and now I’m here.
What challenges have you faced as you've worked toward this degree – and how have you overcome them?
Some of the classes I’ve taken or I will be taking are not my strong suit as a student. But I continue to overcome them by talking to my professors about problems I need help with and finding tutors to help further explain things to me.
What’s been your favorite memory at UNI?
So far, my favorite memory is going to a sorority.
How has UNI helped you achieve your goals?
By providing wonderful faculty that I know will answer any question I have.
How has your experience at UNI shaped you?
I think it has shaped me wonderfully. I wish I would have started here to begin with. I am now pushing UNI to many people.
What advice would you give to students considering UNI?
Don’t second guess yourself. If it feels like home, then you're home.
What do you plan to do with your degree?
I plan to teach in a classroom one day.
