More than 300 students will be honored at the biannual University of Northern Iowa Teacher Education Induction Convocation at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, in the Great Hall of the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center.
Family, friends, faculty and administrators are invited to attend the convocation ceremony, which recognizes the 330 students who have satisfied requirements for admission to the UNI Teacher Education Program. This includes students preparing to be teachers at all levels: early childhood, elementary, middle level and high school.
Benjamin Forsyth, head of the Educational Psychology, Foundations and Leadership Studies department in the UNI College of Education, will deliver the convocation address.
This is the 58th group of candidates for induction since the ceremonies began in 1991, hosted by the UNI College of Education. A reception will follow in the GBPAC lobby. UNI has the largest teacher education program in Iowa, with more than 450 students graduating each year.
