Mackenzie Haag describes how the Exercise Science major has helped her toward her goal of physical therapy school.
My time at UNI has been greatly enhanced by both my academic and extra-curricular experiences! Being an exercise science major has given me opportunities to strengthen my skills in biomechanics, neuromotor control, exercise physiology, and other areas that will greatly benefit me in physical therapy school. This major also gave me the opportunity to complete an internship at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines in the cardiac medical intensive care unit. After graduation, I will attend physical therapy school to obtain my doctorate in physical therapy and work as a licensed clinician. While at UNI, I've also been a member of the UNI Cheer Squad as well as other student organizations including the Pre-Physical Therapy Club, Student Life Team, and the University Honors Program.
