Department of Kinesiology

Where health and education converge

The Department of Kinesiology offers you a world spanning from physical education to the science of exercise. Preparing you for a future working with young children, elite athletes and mature adults. Taking science and practice into classrooms and clinics, into labs and onto the field.

Lay the foundation for a future in health professions like physical therapy and occupational therapy. Prepare to be a teacher from the oldest physical education teaching program in the state. Find opportunities with minors in coaching, sport administration and strength and conditioning.

Above all, learn from a committed core of faculty who will become your greatest champions.

UNI helped me achieve my goals through their exceptional faculty and staff. The faculty and staff, specifically in the Department of Kinesiology, get to know you as a person and truly want you to be successful. They are all brilliant, humorous and kind people.
