Athletic Training

Exciting changes are happening in UNI Athletic Training!

We are amidst transition to a professional masters program; we accepted the final cohort of students into our professional undergraduate athletic training program in the spring of 2017. All students currently enrolled in the undergraduate AT Program must complete the major by May 2020.  We will begin accepting applications for our professional masters in athletic training program on October 1, 2017.  Information regarding the professional masters program can be viewed using the menu bar on the left or in the UNI catalog.

The mission of the Division of Athletic Training at the University of Northern Iowa is to promote professionalism, scholarship, service and other significant contributions to the field of athletic training through cooperation between the didactic and clinical components of undergraduate and graduate education.

The UNI Athletic Training Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) located at 6850 Austin Center Blvd., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78731-3184.  The program will have its next comprehensive review during the 2025-2026 academic year.
