Athletic Training Students

We will be accepting the final cohort of students into our professional undergraduate athletic training program in the spring of 2017.  Students must complete the major by May 2020.  We will begin accepting students into our professional masters in athletic training program in spring of 2018.  Information regarding the professional masters program can be viewed in the UNI catalog.

The mission of the Division of Athletic Training at the University of Northern Iowa is to promote professionalism, scholarship, service and other significant contributions to the field of athletic training through cooperation between the didactic and clinical components of undergraduate and graduate education.

The UNI Athletic Training Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) located at 6850 Austin Center Blvd., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78731-3184.  The program will have its next comprehensive review during the 2025-2026 academic year.

In the past three years, the Athletic Training Program has graduated 67 students and has a three year aggregate passing rate of 88% for students taking their BOC exams.  The following lists the breakdown per year.
