Join the FIRST accredited Professional Masters in Athletic Training Program in the state of Iowa! 

As of April 18, 2018 our professional masters program is accredited!  

We are now accepting applications for our professional masters in athletic training program.  Information regarding the professional masters program can be viewed using the menu bar on the left or in the UNI catalog.

We accepted the final cohort of students into our professional undergraduate athletic training program in the spring of 2017. All students currently enrolled in the undergraduate AT Program must complete the major by May 2020. 

In addition to our professional master's in athletic training program, we offer a bachelor of arts degree in Athletic Training & Rehabilitation Studies, which prepares students to enter graduate studies in athletic training and other healthcare professions.

50 hours of observation of an athletic trainer

Three (3) letters of recommendation.  One letter must come from a faculty member/advisor, one must come from an athletic trainer who supervised the student during their observation experience, and one must come from a professional reference of the student’s choice.  All letters should address the student’s potential for success as a graduate student and athletic trainer.

Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0

The UNI Athletic Training Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) located at 6850 Austin Center Blvd., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78731-3184.  The program will have its next comprehensive review during the 2025-2026 academic year.
