Facilities and Locations

The Schindler Education Center (SEC) is on the north side of campus and is building number 18 on the campus map which provides directions within the campus. Our health and human services students spend much of their time at the Wellness and Recreation Center (WRC) and Human Performance Complex (HPC) on the northwest corner of campus, which are just north of the UNI Dome on the map.

Schindler Education Center (SEC)
The Schindler Education Center became the home of the COE soon after UNI became a liberal arts university and was fully renovated and rededicated in 2017. Most COE education-related programs and courses are housed here. SEC features state-of-the-art multimedia classrooms and lecture halls, as well as the HNI Corporation Instructional Resources and Technology Services and its own on-site Schindigs cafe.

The Human Performance Center is a two-story, 33,000 sq. ft. facility that promotes a unique community partnership with Allen Memorial Hospital; Cedar Valley Medical Specialists, P.C.; and Covenant Medical System. The HPC includes space for instructional and outreach programs for the College of Education's Department of Kinesiology and Department of Health, Recreation and Community Services.
Nelson Field House
The Nielsen Field House includes a gymnasium, offices, and the Child Development Center. It also houses the Scottish RiteCare Early Language Program, which is a program of the Communication Sciences and Disorders department.
Wellness and Recreation Center (WRC)
