Finding the Nielsen Field House

The main office of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction is located in the gym of the Nielsen Field House.  The Nielsen Field House is on 19th Street directly north of the Towers dorms. The Field House used to be part of the Price Lab School and is labeled as the Child Development Center on this map. The main entrance which is handicap accessible is on the north side of the building near the 19th street parking log. There is also a south entrance (facing campus and the Towers) which should be unlocked as well during office hours.

For the purposes of GPS, the official street address is 1468 W 19th Street.  For mail, continue to send all mail using the address above with mail code 0606.

Finding our office

Enter the Nielsen Field House through the north door (facing 19th street) and take the first door on the right to room 165 (the gym).  From the south door (facing the Towers), go up the stairs and straight ahead, turn left at the drinking fountain and enter the door to room 165 (the gym).  The office spaces are in the gym behind the curtain.

Many, but not all, C&I faculty have offices located in the Nielsen Field House gym.   The Literacy Education office is in Nielsen as well.  Check the UNI Directory to determine the location of a faculty member.  "NFH" signifies the person's office is in Nielsen.
